Abstract
Objectives: The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship between parental regulation of Internet game use and risk of Internet gaming disorder in children.

Methods: This study was derived from Internet user Cohort for Unbiased Recognition of gaming disorder in Early adolescence (iCURE). This study was included 1,984 adolescents those who used Internet game, completed the baseline assessments both adolescents and parents and lived together with both parents. The main exposure variable is parental regulation of Internet game use and the outcome variable is risk of Internet gaming disorder.

Results: The relationship between parental regulation of Internet game use and risk of Internet gaming disorder in children was not statistically significant.

Conclusions: Public efforts would be needed to solve the problems of Internet gaming disorder among adolescents. In addition, it is suggested to investigate the relationship between parental regulation of Internet game use and risk of Internet gaming disorder through prospective observation.
